Since opening in January 2000, the Melbourne Aquarium has attracted more than 3.2 million visitors. Focussing on the animals of the Southern Ocean, from Australia to Antarctica, it is both an environment and a venue of unique character, not a fish museum! By day it is a place of entertainment, education and learning. By night it is an amazing function centre. Visitors are totally immersed in another world that seduces all the senses. It is involving, interactive, educative and entertaining. Located on the banks of the Yarra River, Melbourne Aquarium is home to more than 10,000 aquatic creatures and is open every day of the year.
