The Gold Museum Shop is located within the Gold Museum Ballarat (directly opposite Sovereign Hill). Both are owned and operated by Sovereign Hill. The shop sells gold and high quality Australian-made product with a gold theme. Its customers are drawn predominantly from Sovereign Hill's sizeable international and domestic markets. Sovereign Hill is a major Australian tourist attraction, welcoming over 500,000 visitors annually. The shop extends and enhances the story of the great Australian gold rushes told by Sovereign Hill and the Gold Museum. Revenue from the shop also makes a significant contribution to Sovereign Hill's financial viability.
