Federation Square

Federation Square is the new centre of Melbourne and in less than two years has become the most visited tourist attraction in Victoria. Officially opened on 26 October 2002, Federation Square was specifically designed and built to provide a stimulating, educational, comforable and entertaining destination venue to Victorians, interstate and international visitors. And it has done just that, with more than 12 million visits to date. Federation Square is owned and operated by Federation Square Management, a small company set up and owned by the State Government of Victoria with the clear vision to run Federation Square on a sound commercial basis and to create this space as the central focus and icon for Victoria.
