Royal Auto (RACV)

For more than eight decades, RoyalAuto has been the voice of RACV, Victoria’s motoring organisation. The publication was launched in January 1922 when there were 74,000 cars on Australia’s roads and far fewer RACV members. Now RoyalAuto’s circulation is more than 1.1 million, the largest of any monthly magazine in Australia. RoyalAuto enters almost two-thirds of all households in Victoria 11 times a year (there is no January edition) and is read by 48 per cent of all adults in Victoria. It is the only monthly auto club magazine in Australia (the others are produced bi-monthly). Since February 1999 when the magazine was relaunched by a new inhouse publishing team, RACV Publications Department, readership has lifted by 35%.
