Melbourne Aquarium
Located on the banks of Melbourne’s Yarra River, Melbourne Aquarium is the only Southern Ocean aquarium in the world. Since opening in January 2000 over 4.4 visitors have experienced this amazing venue. Melbourne Aquarium is packed with adventure for people of all ages. It’s an awesome journey over four levels with 10,000 aquatic animals in billabongs, rock pools, mangroves and coral atolls. Monsters of the Deep, Melbourne Aquarium’s most successful campaign ever, ran over the summer of 2005/06. The star attraction of this world-first exhibit was a seven metre, deep sea Giant Squid, frozen in time into the world’s largest man-made block of ice.
