Geelong Otway Tourism has created and refined a recipefor bringing together key stakeholders in the region who can deliver services to the Business & Meetings market, whilst also stimulating a high level of demand for those services.
With the support of our industry partners, we attracted 19,000 conference delegates, with an average growth in economic benefits to the region of 180% per annum, results far exceeding our expectations. Key strategies to achieve this have included the provision of hands-on support to conference organisers, the leveraging of financial resources from the local tourism industry and the implementation of high-impact destination marketing programs.
