he Flagstaff Hill Tourism Precinct, located in the provincial city of Warrnambool, is the largest and most significant tourist attraction and visitor information centre on the Great Ocean Road. Culturally, this precinct houses the most significant collection of maritime artefacts and relics in Australia. Featuring specialist tourism, interpretation and heritage services, this site includes a maritime museum and shipwreck interpretation gallery, a recreated 1870’s maritime village, ‘Shipwrecked’ a world class night time attraction, gift shop, Visitor Information Centre and award winning restaurant ‘Pippies by the Bay’. In 2005/06, Flagstaff Hill tourism precinct hosted over 271,295 visitors.
