Eastcoast Airshow
The 2005 Bairnsdale Airshow, held in February 2005, was the most successful airshow ever held in East Gippsland and was the largest event of its kind in regional Australia. Such was the size of the airshow that all accommodation was booked out over the weekend of the event. Attendance records suggest that over 35 per cent of visitors came from outside the local area. Organisers kept their word to the local hospital aged care centre by delivering a new bus for residents from the $90,000 profit from the airshow.
