Butlers of Bendigo

Butlers of Bendigo

Butlers of BendigoSituated in the historic goldfields township of Eaglehawk, some five kilometres from central Bendigo, Butlers of Bendigo is based in the historic Caradon House built by a goldfields doctor. The building was later owned by local goldmine managers, an MP, and was used for a time in 1862 as the offices of the Borough of Eaglehawk. Butlers of Bendigo not only provides prestige bed and breakfast accommodation, but also offers an alternative to other district properties by offering guests direct goldfields experiences, particularly through several goldfields 'eco-tourism' options. It capitalises on its proximity to the Whipstick Forest region of the Greater Bendigo National Park, and the remnants of the Cornish mining settlement of Harvey Town. Various heritage buildings in Eaglehawk such as bank buildings with their gold smelter chimneys are still in evidence.
