Slumber Safaris - Werribee Open Range Zoo

Werribee Open Range Zoo’s Slumber Safaris, just 30 minutes west of Melbourne, is a unique accommodation experience located on top of a rugged ochre escarpment within the zoo’s African-inspired savannah, where giraffe and rhinoceros roam. The accommodation is spectacular. Guests stay in luxurious cabin-sized canvas lodges themed as 1930’s-style African safari lodges. Each lodge features queen or king single beds, mosquito nets, pith helmets and old-fashioned ceramic jugs and bowls. Amazing activities enhance the visit. Guests can take a private tour of the zoo, get up-close-and-personal with an adult rhinoceros, hippo or cheetah, test their rhythm in an African drum workshop and visit the lions ‘behind the scenes’ in their night dens.
