Koorie Heritage Trust
Learn about 60,000 years of heritage from the indigenous people who experienced it. The richness, diversity and beauty of the indigenous people of south eastern Australia can be discovered at the Koorie Heritage Trust Cultural Centre. An interactive sound and visual permanent exhibition traces the history of the oldest living culture in the world through to the modern day. Visitors can touch a possum-skin cloak, play clap sticks or hold a spear-thrower. Four galleries showcase the best of emerging and established Koorie artists with exhibitions changing every three months. Visitors can purchase authentic Koorie art and gifts from the retail outlet. To experience a very powerful and personal insight into Koorie culture and heritage, guided tours are available with Koorie cultural officers.
